Because when you look back on this stage of life, it won't just be the way everyone looked. It'll be the way your toddler wrapped their arms around your neck, your older child proudly kissed their new sibling's forehead, the way tiny fingers reached for yours, and the laughter that always followed an inside joke.
Those are the moments I'm paying attention to.
I'll guide you when you need it, but I'll also give your family space to simply be together. The best photographs usually happen somewhere in between: when your children are busy being themselves and you're busy loving them.
I'm lauren
I've always been a natural observer.
I've never been the loudest person in the room. I've always been the one quietly noticing the little things, taking in the details, and finding meaning in the moments others might pass by.
Maybe that's why I've always been drawn to the moments that happen quietly: a tiny hand reaching for yours, a child’s personality shining through, the way your family falls into its own rhythm when no one is asking you to pose.
I think my calm and observant nature is what allows me to create space for families to simply be themselves. No pressure to perform. No need for everything to be perfect. Just room for your family’s story to unfold naturally.
I believe those are the moments you'll miss most someday.
The ones that feel ordinary now, but hold the story of who your family was in this season of life.
My promise to you
After years of working with children, photography became a way for me to notice and preserve the small moments that make each family unique. My background in education shaped the way I approach every session, creating a relaxed environment where children can feel comfortable and families can simply be themselves.
As an elementary teacher of English language learners, I've learned how to adapt, connect, and understand that every child communicates differently. These years have taught me patience and helped me notice the little details that make each child unique.
After moving from New Jersey to Washington, DC, I worked as a tutor with AmeriCorps while earning my graduate degree in teaching English language learners. These experiences strengthened my ability to connect with children and families from all backgrounds.
I graduated college with a degree in Early Childhood Education and began working with young children in preschool and kindergarten. Those early years taught me the patience, curiosity, and understanding that continue to shape my approach today.

Lauren was absolutely incredible at capturing our family's memories this summer! Her patience and kindness with my 13-month-old daughter made the photo session a breeze. We're so grateful for the beautiful photos she took, especially the ones of our daughter pointing out where her baby sister would be. These will be cherished treasures for years to come. I highly recommend Lauren to anyone looking for a talented and caring photographer!!

Lauren is the best! She first took couple’s photos of my husband and me. We loved the photos so much we booked her again for a maternity shoot. When our son was born we did a newborn session with her. Most recently she took family pictures of us that we ended up using for our holiday cards. She is also a full time teacher so she is great with kids! Cannot recommend enough. Can’t wait for our next session with her.
She is great with kids!

Lauren took our maternity photos and my husband and I absolutely love how they turned out! Lauren was easy to work with and she knew exactly where to go in Old Town Alexandria for different photo locations. The photo prints also turned out beautiful! We’re so glad to have these moments captured during a special time.
A memory that will last!
